Public Engagement in the Constitution Review Process Continues to Gain Momentum
27 April 2026The first session by the Public Awareness and Civic Education (PACE) an arm of the Constitution Review Commission was held on the 22nd of April with a group of young chiefs currently undertaking the Vanua Leadership Training Program at the Fiji National University (FNU) and Nadave.
Their leadership training continues through to September; however, today’s PACE session was integrated into their program, recognising them as active young leaders already serving in their respective provinces.
PACE aims to provide awareness, education, and practical assistance to members of the public on how to meaningfully participate in the Constitutional Review Process.
Over the coming weeks, PACE teams will be deployed across Fiji’s 14 provinces in the lead-up to the Constitutional Review Commission consultations.
These teams will engage with communities to provide clarity on the review process, respond to questions on its objectives, and guide the public on how to make submissions, key timelines to observe, and where scheduled PACE sessions will be held within their respective areas.
To support accessibility and inclusion, the Constitutional Review Booklets have been translated into iTaukei, Hindi, and Rotuman.
These are available to the public to assist with the preparation of submissions, should they require them.
For any queries regarding the PACE program, members of the public can contact the Office of the Solicitor-General on 3309866.
