Cabinet Subcommittee on Legislation Meets to Advance Key Legislative Priorities
9 July 2026The Acting Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Honourable Siromi Turaga, joined senior Cabinet Ministers and Opposition Members of Parliament, in participating in the Fiji Media Association town hall session held at the Tailevu Hotel in Korovou on the 4th of July.
The interactive forum, organised by the Fiji Media Association, provided members of the public particularly the people of Tailevu and surrounding communities with an opportunity to directly raise issues affecting their daily lives.
A wide range of concerns were discussed during the session, including access to clean water, road conditions, health services, education, agricultural support, policing, electricity supply, and broader issues relating to business and economic development.
Members of the public spoke openly about the challenges they continue to face, while Government representatives, Opposition Members of Parliament, and relevant authorities responded with updates, clarifications, and in some cases, commitments to address long-standing concerns raised.
Hon Turaga welcomed the open and constructive nature of the dialogue, noting that such engagements are an important platform for strengthening communication between leaders and the people, and ensuring that service delivery issues are heard and addressed in a transparent manner.
