5 March 2026Officers from the Office of the Attorney-General are currently attending the Leaders LEAD Symposium 2026 at the Sofitel Resort in Denarau.
The three-day forum which began on Monday brought together emerging, current and seasoned leaders from across the Pacific to explore practical approaches to leading self, leading others and leading change.
Discussions focused on equipping leaders with tools to navigate change, strengthen team culture and lead with clarity and purpose in increasingly complex environments.
The Head of Productivity and Administration Collin Yabaki said the symposium provide a timely opportunity for officers to reflect on their own leadership approach and sharpen the skills needed in the public service.
“Leadership is not just about position, it is about influence and responsibility,” Mr Yabaki said.
“This symposium challenges us to look at how we lead ourselves first, how we create safe and productive spaces for our teams, and how we respond during times of uncertainty.”
He said the practical nature of the sessions, particularly on courageous conversations, emotional maturity and shared purpose, is applicable on the office’s day-to-day operations.
“Our responsibility does not end here. We plan to cascade what we learned through internal discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions so the officers can benefit.”
“Leadership development must be continuous, and it must be shared.”
The symposium theme was “Setting Leaders Up to Win.”
