HON. MR FILIMONI VOSAROGO
Minister for Lands and Minerals Resources
Filimoni Wainiqolo Rasokisoki Vosarogo was sworn in as Fiji’s Minister for Lands & Mineral Resources on 24 December 2022. Minister Vosarogo was educated at Queen Victoria School.
Minister Vosarogo is a lawyer by profession. In 1998, Minister Vosarogo graduated with an LLB Degree from the University of the South Pacific, Emalus Campus, Port Vila, Vanuatu. In 1999, he obtained his Professional Diploma in Legal Practice and was admitted to the High Court of Fiji as a Barrister & Solicitor. In addition, Minister Vosarogo was part of the pioneer class Leadership Fiji, of one of Fiji’s premier leadership programs, amongst many several other trainings he attended.
Minister Vosarogo has 25 years of legal experience having served as a Legal Officer and Senior Legal Officer for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, Manager Legal Services for the Land Transport Authority before becoming the 3rd Director of Fiji’s Legal Aid Commission. In 2009, he left public service and started his own law firm, Vosarogo Lawyers. During his time in private practice, he represented three Prime Ministers in their court cases in three different countries of the Pacific from 2016 – 2021.
Minister Vosarogo has also served under various appointments across a spectrum of organizations as Chairman and as a Board Member. He also served as Legal adviser for various organization until he became a Minister in Government. He also taught criminal law at the University of the South Pacific between 2022 – 2024. He hails from Loa Village in the Province of Cakaudrove, located in Fiji’s second biggest island, Vanua Levu. Minister Vosarogo is married to Sera and they have six children.
