Ben Wildfire is the Child Protection Specialist for UNICEF Pacific, leading UNICEF’s child justice work across 14 Pacific Island Countries and Territories. Ben received his juris doctorate with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law and subsequently passed the New York Bar examination in 2011. After law school, Ben worked in child welfare and protection in the US, advising American states on how to improve outcomes for children in care. He began his international career in 2016 working on child protection and child justice for UNICEF in Malawi. He has continued to work for UNICEF for the last decade in posts across 5 countries and 3 continents. Ben resides in Suva with his wife and three children since taking up his current role in January 2023.
