MS MARIE PEGIE CAUCHOIS
Head of office and Regional Anti-Corruption Adviser

Ms. Marie Pegie Cauchois has been serving as the Head of Office and Regional Anti-Corruption Adviser at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in the Pacific since 2021. In this role, she oversees a comprehensive portfolio that includes Anti-Corruption, Transnational Organized Crime, Cybercrime, Maritime Crime, Wildlife Crime, Anti-Money Laundering, and Trafficking across 14 Pacific Island countries.
The primary objective of the anti-corruption programme under her leadership is to support these 14 Pacific Island countries in promoting and strengthening measures to prevent and combat corruption, in alignment with the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and the Teieniwa Vision.
Ms. Pegie Cauchois has been with the United Nations since 2012, initially contributing to UN Peacekeeping operations in South Sudan, Afghanistan, the Central African Republic (CAR), and Somalia. During her tenure with the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO), she focused on rule of law strengthening, legal aid, and access to justice, and played a pivotal role in operationalizing the Special Criminal Court in CAR.
In 2017, she transitioned to UNODC, where she served as Deputy Country Manager and Anti- Corruption Programme Manager in Myanmar. Prior to her UN career, Ms. Pegie Cauchois worked in Vanuatu with the AusAid/Australian Federal Police project, Transparency International, and the Vanuatu Prime Minister’s Office.
Ms. Pegie Cauchois holds a Master’s degree in International Public Law from Melbourne University and a Master’s degree in International Private Law from Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne.
