Fiji Strengthens Climate Resilience and Maritime Safety Through Key International Commitments
29 April 2026Public engagement in the constitution review process continues to gain momentum, with residents of Komave Settlement in Nabua turned up in numbers to attend the Public Awareness and Civic Education session organised by the Office of the Attorney-General in collaboration with the Fiji Law Reform Commission and the Legal Aid Commission last Thursday night.
The session laid the foundation for the work of the Constitution Review Commission, which is tasked with undertaking a comprehensive inquiry into the 2013 Constitution through broad-based consultations with the people of Fiji.
During the session, the team emphasised the importance of public participation, encouraging residents to actively engage in the process by making submissions and sharing their views on the Constitution.
Residents were also provided with key information on how they can participate, including where and how to submit their contributions.
The community was reminded that the review process presents an important opportunity for all Fijians to have their voices heard and to contribute meaningfully to shaping the country’s supreme law.
The session also featured an interactive question-and-answer segment, where residents sought clarification and highlighted key issues of concern.
This engagement helped to further strengthen understanding of the review process and the role of community input.
PACE sessions form part of ongoing nationwide efforts to ensure that all Fijians are informed, engaged, and empowered to participate in the constitution review process.
