11 March 2026The Acting Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Honourable Siromi Turaga, met with the Minister for Policing and Communications Honourable Ioane Naivalurua this morning for a briefing on key priority areas within the Ministry of Policing and Communications.
The meeting provided an update on important operational and policy matters, including current initiatives and ongoing programs undertaken by the ministry.
Honourable Turaga will assume the role of Acting Minister for Policing and Communications from tomorrow and acknowledged the importance of ensuring continuity in leadership and oversight. during the briefing.
Discussions also covered the Ministry’s strategic priorities and institutional strengthening efforts.
Earlier today, Honourable Turaga also visited the Fiji Police Force Headquarters at Vinod Patel Arcade in Laucala Beach where he signed the condolence book in honour of the late Constable 8012 Peniasi Racagi.
The Acting Attorney-General conveyed his sympathies to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Constable and acknowledged his service to the nation.
Hon Turaga thanked Hon Naivalurua and senior officials for the briefing and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the work of the Ministry during his tenure as Acting Minister.
